Teenagers Inspiring Positive Change
They are the next generation of thinkers, artists, scientists, social activists and entrepreneurs.
Applying their creativity, wisdom and innovative thinking, these young leaders are dreaming of new possibilities and putting their ground-breaking ideas into action.
Teenagers around the world are inspiring positive change.
It is time to learn from them.
August 28th, 2010, a dynamic group of teens presented their ideas for the future to an audience ready to be inspired at the first ever TEDxNextGenerationAsheville (TEDxNGA). This interactive, multi-media event at The Orange Peel in downtown Asheville was an opportunity for growth, learning and fun for our entire community and a springboard to action. Watch the videos now to experience the power of these young people’s passion and ideas.
Remaining true to the spirit of the TED Conference – hosting the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, and challenging them to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less – TEDxNextGenerationAsheville will be comprised of a mix of live talks and performances and pre-recorded talks from recent TED conferences.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxNextGenerationAsheville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDx[name] event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
