If you are trying to lose weight it is very important to PLAN your meals before you shop. Once you have planned your meals, make up a food shopping list based on your meal plan. This is the simplest way to avoid over-buying.
Also never go shopping when you are hungry. A hungry shopper is much more likely to over-buy!
If you have to shop when hungry, buy yourself an apple or a banana and eat it before or while you shop.
