Overweight & Mortality

Does Being Overweight Mean I Will Die Younger?

Obesity is linked to a wide range of diseases and health problems, and some of these problems are life threatening.

According to the US Surgeon-General as many as 300,000 premature deaths per year in America are linked to obesity.

One study of over 250,000 people by the University of North Carolina (1999) found that obesity raises the risk of death from natural causes in men and women (aged 40-50) to that of someone six years older.
