Yes. It is possible to lose weight without doing much exercise. I know hundreds of dieters who have reduced weight without doing much exercise.
However, it’s possible that these dieters were exceptions. Remember, most surveys show a strong link between obesity and lack of exercise.
That’s why I strongly recommend a combination of diet and exercise.
According to the US National Weight Control Registry, there appears to be a strong connection between exercise and weight maintenance. Most successful weight maintainers on the National Weight Control Register exercise up to 60 minutes a day.
