I Have a Thin Top Half, but A Very Fat Bottom Half.

Is This Unhealthy?

Research into weight and health shows that excess weight concentrated around the abdomen (intra-abdominal or visceral fat) is a much higher health risk than excess weight located below the waist on the hips, butt or thighs.

If, according to the Body Mass Index, you are overweight but your weight is evenly distributed over your body, or if it is concentrated below the waist then your health risks are greatly reduced.
