Does It Matter Where My Excess Weight Is Located On My Body?
Fat distribution is very important. In fact, it is now believed that where we carry our excess fat is just as important as how much excess fat we have.
Body fat located around the ‘middle’ – known as intra-abdominal fat is is believed to be more dangerous to health than fat carried below the waist on our hips and thighs. This is why, from a health viewpoint, it is better to be pear-shaped than apple-shaped.
The good news for apple shapes is that usually it’s easier to lose fat from the abdominal region than fat from our hips and thighs.
