1. Desha Rodriguez
Jennifer Sedia. It was a shock to her and the audience all but she looked good.
Another tough class and some great conditioning on the top finishers.
Top five:
5. Dianne Solomons
4. Candy Canary
3. Julia Stamper
2. Sheila Bleck
1. Michele Neil
This was the right call again. A few boos but Michele had better conditioning here.
This is a tough class. Your top five:
5. Holly Geerson
4. Beverly DiRenzo
3. Karen Choat
2. Star Blaylock
1. Angela Salvagno
Angela looked great tonight and had an interesting outfit with matching music. A few boos over star in second but it was the right call.
This was a fairly weak class in terms of conditioning for most of the class.
Your top five:
5. Holly Robey
4. Sally Taylor
3. Kelly Dobbins
2. Diana Tinnelle
1. Jennifer Sedia
Another good call by the judges. Jennifer had the most muscle and conditioning. Diana looks great but just out muscled.
The top five for the lightweights are:
5. Tricia Travis
4. Melinda Williamson
3. Tracy Witherspoon
2. Beth Wachter
1. Galina Serdtsev
Very well deserved win for Galina. Beautiful routine to match a beautiful physique.
One of the fun things that a few of us do is try and predict who is going to do well. Now that is not easy, considering is is based on hype, various pictures, and just word of mouth. However, my prediction of Peter Putman as winning his class and getting an overall pro card just may occur.
In the Light Heavyweight class, I have Peter winning the class, while isaac has Al Auguste winning it. The truth is that this will be a very close win, has Peter has a strong upper body, while weaker in the legs. I still think Peter will win! However, my prediction of peter getting a pro card might be a little more cloudy.
That is because in the Heavyweight class, DeShaun Grimez came out of nowhere to stun the audience and probably lay claim to this class. Ok, not stun because we knew he can place quite well, but the Lake Forest California resident was much more improved than last year. Same with brandon Curry, looking great. So what happened with the hype of A.D. Cherry winning the class and overall. Not going to happen, he is still a few days out.
In the Super Heavyweights, Big Ben White from Albany, New York will win, complete dominating. He is the overall pick to, by a myriad of us here.
But it will be a good contest tonight, we plan to do lots of videos, take more pics and get more interesting stories that will last for a while.
Pink Tacos - that is where lunch was after the women’s prejudging this Saturday morning. Where is Pink Tacos? Well, that is in the hard Rock Cafe, where you can get lots of soft tacos, rice beans and chips for a good price, along with some marguaritas. Enjoying lunch was Sonia Abcock, Mary Jo Cooke, J.M. Manion, George Farah, Lee Thompson, Shawn Ray, and John Tuman. I must say that Sonia AbCock and Mary Jo Cooke have some great stories to tell!
Many others were there, including two Coloradians who competed in the prejuding, Liza Kampstra and Jackie Skibba. It was fun watching these two has they had some drinks, enjoyed various fans coming up to them, and listening to Jackie’s special Scottish accent. It seemed to me that Liza is a fan of the Pink Taco’s, judging by the special clothing she had on which that name.
The USA’s are cool, having a good time, and even with 400 competitors, things are running smoothly, thanks to Jon Lindsay and his crew. Backstage today had 250 women competitors, and backstage pictures were a must to take as they got ready to come on stage.
One of my favorite competitors is Lynn Widdowson, who has a real good chance of winning her class. I met Lynn over 7 years ago, before she started to compete in Figure, in China. Yes, were were both touring China, and our just happen to be in the same tour together for two weeks. It was a blast, and it is a pleasure to watch Lynn on stage. A few years ago, she was playing Field Hockey in college. Now, it will be real awesome to see here become a pro.
The shorties are back on stage. This pejudging is flying along. Kudos to the judges and Jon Lindsay’s staff. There was a great crowd here today as well.
The top callouts:
jessica madden-Lyons
Mary Cencich
Desha rodriguez
Carin hawkins
monica mark
Wow! Monica Mark looks great today and moves waaaay up. Desha looks awesome and it’s between her and monica to take this round. That said when the scores even out I think Desha could be your new pro tonight. Mary cenchich looks great and definite top five. Carin looks good too. Shelly rego dropped but I’d have her higher.
Danielle lifer
lillian granillo
Tracy guarino
April fortier
This was an odd group of callouts that didn’t seem to fit with the other groups, in my opinion. There were no standouts here but I’d go with April in this one. The legs on this top group all seemed softer. This group i don’t know what to make of it.
